LUNASOL was born in February 1999. The brand name LUNASOL derives from Latin words, Luna (moon) and Sol (sun) in Latin.
As the name suggests, it began as a brand that brings out multifaceted inner beauty that exists in all women.
Since the launch of the brand, LUNASOL has been focusing on “radiant and lustrous” skin texture and dimensions created by “light and shadow”. This concept continues to be carried on in the current LUNASOL products even after 10 years.

TRANS NATURAL LIQUID FOUNDATION |

This foundation was developed to create an ultimate “natural finish.” What makes this foundation special is that it offers various usages. Not only can it be used as a foundation, but it can also be blended with other foundation. This is the product LUNASOL proudly presents to create dimensions using “light and shadow” by developing special colors such as “Shining Gold” and “Rose Gold” that control the skin texture as they are applied before and after the foundation. TRANS FIT LIQUID FOUNDATION

This was developed as a well-balanced foundation that meets all types of needs such as good coverage, texture and finish. Along with the TRANSNATURAL LIQUID FOUNDATION that was launched at the same time, this became a flagship foundation which created an established notion “LUNASOL for Foundation.”

INVIGOLAS WATER CREAM

This legendary product totally changed conceptions of cream at a time when most of creams on the market were “heavy textured”. This created an opportunity for many customers to become LUNASOL fans.
This is a cream yet it is light and succulent with a shimmering texture that feels as if it permeates into the skin upon contact. This soothing texture has been carried on in WATER CREAM FOUNDATION which became a smash hit later on. (Released in 1999)

SHINING POWDER

“Radiance and luster” is the concept LUNASOL has valued the most since launch. It can be said that the concept originates from this product. Pearls are the major ingredients of this product, as it just needed sparkles and luster. Although there are many products that contain pearls in the market today, but at that time, this was an extremely rare product. It became a smash hit and sold out immediately after its launch. (Released in 2000)
Radiate subtle graceful air drawn out through thorough care, in contrast with unattended skin appearance. Evokes the beauty of facial features using the contrast of light and shadow effectively.

INTELLECTUAL EYES

LUNASOL’s flagship product is definitely an eye shadow palette. The very first eye shadow palette was launched in 2003.
It bestowed a natural nuance on the eyes with the effects of color and light, creating defined, impressive eyes with dimensions. In makeup lessons for training our Beauty Counselors, this eye shadow is used in order for them to learn about dimensions of the eyelids. This is a product presented proudly by LUNASOL that values applying makeup attentively. INTELLECTUAL WATER CREAM FOUNDATION

In order to meet the needs for “foundation that goes on lightly in thin layer yet provides excellent moisture”, this cream foundation was created aiming to embody the “soothing texture” of WATER CREAM launched in 1999 in the form of the foundation. It was developed focusing on a 60% water composition to reflect the name of the product.
“WATER CREAM FOUNDATION” which was renewed in 2006 also contains approximately 60% water, and the soothing texture has been passed on in this product. (Released in 2004 in Japan)
Layering clear and clean colors instantly accentuates the beauty in the face, and even the wearer’s demeanor feels purified. The ultimate makeup that purifies even the facial features and soul was created.
“Purifying Makeup” that purifies the facial features as well as the soul when colors are carefully layered on meets the moonlight. Goes on smoothly and adheres well to the skin. Smoothes thinly yet gives sufficient coverage. This was created pursuing the basic functions of liquid foundation. With a soothing texture with approximately 60% water composition, this liquid foundation provides excellent translucency and purifies facial features as well. Excellent spreadability and beautiful semi-matte finish were very popular among many customers.

LIGHTING FOR EYES

This eye shadow palette features lamé powder that conjures up the image of the moonlight. This eye shadow received the Best Cosmetics awards in various Japanese magazines for our new idea of setting solidified lamé powder into a palette when there were hardly any cosmetics brands that had eye shadows with lamé inside them.. The cool, brownish 04 Neutral is especially very popular even today.
Currently, the limited Party Coffret released in every Christmas season includes this eye shadow from GEKKOU JYOUKA series. It still continues to suggest makeup wrapped with sparkles which looks best for sophisticated adult women.

HIGH STYLIZED MASCARA

This is well balanced mascara created after trying over 100 combinations of mascara liquid, fiber and bristles. Two different types of bristles – long and short – made it possible to create beautifully shaped eyelashes with “great volume at their roots and length“. Focused also on desirable functions for mascara, such as resistance to sebum and tears while remaining easy to remove with warm water.

Although this product itself was launched in 2004, “02 Greenish Gray”, was added to the line in 2005 as a limited-edition color. After its release as a limited-time color in 2005, we received many responses and requests from customers. Thanks to the feedback, this color came back as the regular color.
A rare “Greenish Gray” color blends in well with the skin tone defining their eyes naturally and bestowing dignified presence on the eyes. There were various candidate colors, such as bluish or reddish tones, when developing the product. However, this “Greenish Gray” was the one that blends best with the skin and defines the eyes the most.
This color is as popular as “01 Brownish Black” even today.

MORNING WAKENING MASSAGE
